About the role
As an At Your Service Center Colleague, you are at the heart of delivering a seamless and personalized shopping experience. You’ll support all At Your Service activities, including Buy Online Pickup In Store (BOPS), merchandise returns, order pickups, and other assigned tasks—all while upholding Macy’s service standards. This role requires strong multitasking abilities, problem-solving, attention to detail, and a customer-first mindset. You’ll thrive in a fast-paced environment where flexibility is key, including working a variety of shifts such as nights, weekends, and holidays.
This role goes far beyond just being a cashier. Here, the customer is at the heart of everything we do—every day, all day. You’ll help keep the shopping space clean, organized, and inviting so every customer feels welcome the moment they walk in.
Responsibilities
- Start each day with energy, setting a positive example by greeting teammates warmly and ensuring the At Your Service area is clean and ready for customers.
- Review sales goals, learn about new arrivals and top-selling items, and stay updated on trends and promotions to confidently support the team and engage customers.
- Welcome customers with genuine hospitality, making eye contact and starting friendly conversations to build lasting relationships.
- Assist customers with total store fulfillment, including Buy Online and Pick Up In Store, and ensure proficiency in all necessary systems to complete transactions.
- Maintain an organized collection area for a friction-free customer pickup experience.
- Recover merchandise and keep pickup and return areas clean while ensuring timely completion and curbside delivery of BOPS orders.
- Share Loyalty program benefits, ensure customers have everything they need, and end interactions with a sincere thank-you, often using the customer’s name.
- Support colleagues with honesty, care, and collaboration to better serve customers and communities.
- Strive for daily improvement, take pride in work, achieve sales goals, and learn from others to deliver individual and store results.
- Acquire new customers by opening credit accounts and sharing loyalty benefits.
Requirements
- Flexible availability, including days, evenings, weekends, and holidays, with regular, dependable attendance and punctuality.
- Ability to understand and communicate effectively with customers, co-workers, and supervisors.
- Read and understand employment policies and safety rules/procedures in English.
- Make prompt, sound decisions in real-time to address customer needs and resolve issues.
- Comfortable communicating and collaborating with customers and colleagues.
- Meet daily sales goal challenges.
- Enjoy meeting people, learning about them, and sharing information.
- Resourceful, eager to start new ventures, and adaptable to changing priorities; able to work independently but thrive in team dynamics.
- Comfortable using electronic devices, including handheld equipment, cash registers, and processing register transactions.
Essential Physical Requirements
- Talking, lifting, constant moving, standing, and reaching with arms and hands.
- Standing for at least two consecutive hours and lifting at least 25 lbs.
- Stooping, kneeling, crouching, and climbing ladders.
- Reaching, including above eye level.
- Close vision, color vision, depth perception, and focus adjustment.

Schedule
- Full-time colleagues are typically scheduled to work 30 or more hours per week.
- Part-time colleagues are typically scheduled 12-24 hours per week.
- All schedules include weekend shifts as part of the requirements.
- Hours depend on business needs and colleague availability.
