Asst Women's Basketball Coach
About the role
The University of Colorado Colorado Springs (UCCS) is seeking an Assistant Women’s Basketball Coach to join our team. UCCS is dedicated to academic excellence, research, and community engagement, located in a picturesque area of Colorado Springs surrounded by stunning landscapes.
Responsibilities
Coaching (30%): Train varsity women’s basketball team for intercollegiate competition at a nationally competitive level. Assist the head coach in developing and implementing game plans. Maintain and increase knowledge of women’s basketball training and coaching techniques. Supervise the training, development, and placement of staff personnel.
Recruiting (40%): Evaluate prospective student-athletes. Develop and maintain correspondence for prospective student-athletes. Schedule, coordinate and supervise official and unofficial visits of prospective student-athletes.
Academics (20%): Monitor academic performance of student-athletes. Counsel student-athletes. Ensure compliance with all UCCS and NCAA regulations regarding academic eligibility requirements.
Scheduling (10%): Assist head coach with planning and coordinating Division II schedule within NCAA, Rocky Mountain Athletic Conference, and institutional guidelines. Assist head coach with planning and coordinating team travel and lodging.
Requirements
Possess a bachelor’s degree.
Coaching experience at the college or high school level is highly desirable.
Knowledge of women’s basketball training and coaching techniques.
Understanding of, or ability to learn, the NCAA forms and compliance requirements.
Qualifications
Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
Experience with recruiting and player development.
Knowledge of NCAA rules and regulations.

$39,799 - $50,000 annually, commensurate with experience and qualifications.
