Asst. Women's Basketball Coach

About the role

Mercy University is seeking an Assistant Women's Basketball Coach on a part-time basis to support the Head Coach in various aspects of the program.

Responsibilities

• Support the Head Coach in planning and delivering practices, game-day preparation, and in-season player development
• Aid in the recruitment of prospective student-athletes, collaborating with the Admissions and Recruitment team
• Monitor student-athlete academic progress and provide mentorship that supports their success
• Ensure all activities comply with NCAA and Northeast-10 Conference regulations

Requirements

• Collegiate playing or coaching experience in women's basketball
• Working knowledge of NCAA recruiting rules and eligibility requirements
• Demonstrated ability to build trust with student-athletes from diverse backgrounds
• Strong communication skills across in-person, digital, and recruitment settings
• Experience supporting academic accountability for student-athletes, consistent with Mercy University's commitment to graduating well-rounded individuals

Qualifications

• A current, valid driver's license and ability to travel for recruiting and competition
