Responsibilities
- Ensure Transportation Officers are properly scheduled and vehicles are ready.
- Assist in training Transportation Officers on policies and procedures.
- Schedule work assignments for Transportation Officers.
- Monitor Transportation Officers during shifts to ensure detainee care and custody.
- Report and resolve any issues with management.
- Ensure maintenance services schedules and repairs of assigned vehicles.
- Review maintenance and repair work and new vehicles for compliance.
- Respond to and investigate accidents involving Transportation Officers.
- Transport detainees in emergencies or when other officers are unavailable.
- Issue departure orders and ensure mission trackers are complete.
- Maintain DOT files and regulatory knowledge.
- Support monthly billings and documentations.
- Train staff and write reports as needed.
Qualifications
- Must meet all Transportation Officer qualifications.
- One (1) year transportation experience required.
- Valid proper class motor vehicle operator’s license.
- Knowledge of DOT requirements for Hours of Service and Vehicle inspections.
- Ability to set standards, procedures, and coordinate transportation operations.
- Effective communication, problem-solving, and leadership skills.
- Ability to write reports and interact with staff.
- Computer proficiency and software usage.
- United States citizenship or residency/experience.
Physical Requirements
- Occasionally: lift, carry, push, or pull up to 60 lbs., bend, stoop, climb, work in extreme temperatures.
- Frequently: lift or carry up to 40 lbs., push or pull up to 60 lbs., reach above shoulder level, drive vehicles, work with machinery, walk, stand, sit.
