About the Role
The Assistant Patient Care Manager is responsible for the day-to-day supervision of nursing operations, ensuring quality care for patients and their families. Mentors, serves as a resource, and provides support for staff and faculty on clinical nursing issues while meeting the department, nursing, and organization goals. Oversees clinical care performed by assigned nursing staff.
This position is for our 2 North ICU.
Responsibilities
- Supervise day-to-day nursing operations to ensure quality patient care.
- Mentor and support nursing staff and faculty on clinical issues.
- Oversee clinical care performed by assigned nursing staff.
- Meet departmental, nursing, and organizational goals.
Requirements
- Minimum three (3) years nursing experience in an acute care or ambulatory setting.
- Demonstrated leadership experience preferred.
- Oncology experience preferred.
Qualifications
- Required: Graduate of state accredited nursing program. B.S.N. OR an Associates Degree with B.S.N. in process to be completed within two (2) years of initial enrollment date.
- Preferred: Masters in Nursing.
Licensure/Certification
- Current Florida RN license.
- ACLS designation required for BMT, SCU, and Telemetry inpatient units.
- Certification in area of specialty, required.
- Current provider designation in BCLS.
Skills
- Strong computer skills and proficiency with Microsoft Office applications.
- Advanced nursing skills: IV therapy, intervention with emergencies, teaching skills.
- Demonstrated competency in inpatient and outpatient best practices including patient care, technology, and processes.
