Asst Director Patient Care - Intensive Coronary Care

Responsibilities

• Provides nursing care in the acute care setting within the scope of practice defined by the Nurse Practice Act and regulatory standards
• Assists in directing and supervising all functions and activities in a patient care setting
• Performs duties in any nursing capacity as needed
• Assures safety in practice by maintaining awareness of individual knowledge and experience level and assumes responsibility for advancing knowledge of self and others on the patient care team through communication and utilization of resource persons and programs
• Utilizes the nursing process in all aspects of care provision, individualizing the plan of care to address specific patient needs
• Supervises and directs delegation of tasks to appropriate personnel and consistently sets and evaluates performance
• Exercises supervisory authority and independent judgment in assigning employee labor
• Maintains knowledge of the patient population served and assures awareness of ethical standards of practice as defined by the ANA Code of Ethics
• Assures safety in practice inclusive of evidence-based practice principles by maintaining awareness of individual knowledge and experience and advancing knowledge of self and team through communication and resource utilization
• Reports identified safety issues such as hazardous environments (damaged floors/walls/ceiling tiles/unsecured areas) and medical errors
• Exercises supervisory authority and independent judgment in directing employee labor
• Makes recommendations regarding ongoing performance evaluation of supervised staff and resulting actions (reward, discipline, discharge, etc.)
• Ensures unit compliance with all applicable policies, laws, and regulations

Requirements

• Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) degree
• Active New Jersey Registered Nurse license in good standing
• Current American Heart Association BLS certification
• 1–3 years of relevant clinical experience

Pay

Annual salary range: $112,500.00 – $146,300.00 per year. The compensation offered will depend on several factors, including the candidate's educational background, skills, and professional experience.

Schedule

Consistent 36 hours per week on the day shift.
