Job Overview

RWJBarnabas Health is seeking a highly dedicated Assistant Director of Patient Care for Post Coronary Care at the New Brunswick campus.

Qualifications

• BSN required
• At least 3 – 5 years of nursing experience required
• Experience in Med Surg and/or Telemetry required
• MSN highly preferred
• Previous experience as a nursing director is preferred

Scheduling Requirements

Night Shift, 40 hours per week
Please note the hours of this position are 7:00 pm - 7:30 am with an additional 8 hours of office time bi-weekly.

On Call Leadership Coverage

Essential Functions

• Managing a team of nurses and support staff, including hiring, training, scheduling, and evaluating performance
• Providing guidance and support to improve nursing practice and morale
• Ensuring that necessary resources, such as equipment, supplies, and staffing levels, are available to provide safe and effective patient care
• Managing department budgets, ensuring cost-effective care delivery, and optimizing the use of resources within the organization
• Making sure patient outcomes are monitored and quality improvement initiatives are implemented to ensure high standards of care
• Ensuring compliance with regulations and safety protocols
• Creating and enforcing policies and procedures to ensure consistent and high-quality nursing care
• Addressing concerns from patients, families, and staff, and resolving conflicts in a timely and professional manner
• Encouraging ongoing education and training for nursing staff to enhance skills and foster a culture of professional development
• Contributing to long-term planning for the unit or facility, including the implementation of new technologies, processes, or services to improve patient care and operational efficiency
• Fulfilling the goals and objectives of the unit/organization
• Effectively communicating information to staff, utilizing resources, and managing staff and services
• Assisting the Director with the daily operations of the unit and delegated responsibilities
• Assigning 50 percent of patient care responsibilities
• Collaboratively preparing and maintaining staff schedule and payroll
• Effectively collaborating with interdisciplinary teams and driving through-out staff accountability

$121,935.00 - $156,140.00 per year
