Asst/Assoc/Professor - Trauma Acute Care Surgery

About the role

The Texas Tech University Health Sciences Center Department of Surgery is seeking Trauma Acute Care Surgeons to join our growing division.

Responsibilities

• Provides and manages direct patient care, including physical examinations, evaluations, assessments, diagnoses and treatment for a specified patient population.
• Prescribes pharmaceuticals, other medications, and treatment regimens as appropriate to assessed medical condition.
• Utilizes specialists and referrals as appropriate.
• Trains and supervises residents and medical students as appropriate.
• Manages the daily operations of a specific medical program, patient care unit, or research function.
• Directs and coordinates the patient care activities of nursing and support staff as required.
• Fulfills established departmental policies, procedures, and objectives, continuous quality improvement objectives and safety environment, and/or infection control standards.
• Participates in specified health promotion, education and/or prevention programs.
• Performs miscellaneous and job-related duties as assigned.

Requirements

• MD/DO or equivalent.
• Completion of an ACGME accredited General Surgery Residency.
• Completion of, or in process of completing, a Surgical Critical Care Fellowship.
