About the role
The Associate Vice President of Engagement for the Division of Advancement & Alumni will provide management, direction, and leadership for acquiring and engaging all Advancement & Alumni constituents. Areas of oversight include:
- Annual Giving
- Engagement Communications
- Donor Relations & Events
- Donor Engagement
- Gift Compliance & Management - Stewardship
- Gift Administration
- Gift Agreements & Estates Administration
Oversees the execution of successful University Advancement & Alumni Engagement programs. Develops long and short-range strategic plans for technology, design strategies, and identifies resources needed for goals to be met. Plans, develops, and implements staff programs including annual giving, communications, events, gift compliance, and stewardship. Develops and implements policies and procedures and ensures compliance with university and state regulations. Expands the Advancement division's impact and resources and enhances understanding of the endowment process. Assists with the execution of successful fundraising and alumni relations plans, both as a member of the senior leadership team and through the support services under direction.
Implements executive reporting packages that meet the changing landscape of the $1B campaign and expanding engagement programs. Serves as an internal consultant, collaborator, and leader with colleagues in the Division of Advancement & Alumni and other internal departments, colleges, and units to develop and maintain a strong university brand that encourages and celebrates engagement as donors, engaged communicators, experiential participants, or volunteers.

Requirements
- Thorough understanding of both theoretical and practical aspects of an analytical, technical, or professional discipline; or basic knowledge of more than one professional discipline.
- Knowledge of the discipline is normally obtained through a formal, directly job-related 4-year degree from a college or university or an equivalent in-depth specialized training program that is directly related to the type of work being performed.
- Minimum of seven (7) years of directly job-related experience.
- Education may be accepted in lieu of experience, and experience may be accepted in lieu of education.
