Associate Vice President for Advancement
Major Gifts
Oversee a portfolio of major giving donors; initiate, cultivate, solicit and steward all gift prospects for all approved university fundraising priorities.
Serves as a catalyst in driving revenue generation of major gifts of $25,000+ with an emphasis on five (5), six (6) and seven (7) figure gifts to enhance ongoing revenue growth with strategic focus on retaining and upgrading donors while building a robust pipeline of prospects tied to the annual measurement of goals.
- Meet or exceed established performance metrics, including securing new gifts and pledges of $25,000 and above, developing and presenting gift proposals, completing prospect visits, and demonstrating overall progress toward assigned fundraising goals.
- Provide individualized and strategic stewardship contact for existing major gift donors.
- Promote involvement of volunteers and board members in the university’s Fund for Campbell efforts.
- Support the fundraising goals of Institutional Advancement through special fundraising projects in alignment with the university’s strategic plan as assigned by the Vice President for Institutional Advancement.
- Collaborate with the Associate Vice President for Alumni Engagement and Director of Alumni Engagement around planning for Alumni Weekend and serve as the lead fundraiser for Class Reunions.
- Serve as the fundraising liaison between Institutional Advancement and assigned schools/units.
Foundation Relations
Develop and lead foundation relationship strategy both for internal and external relationships. Manage a portfolio of foundation partners and implement cultivation and solicitation strategies; conduct personal meetings with prospects and donors annually and engage in ongoing solicitations for support.
Communicates and engages internal partners to explore and interact effectively and efficiently with external foundation funders and funding opportunities. Effectively reports and stewards foundation partnerships to ensure continued support.
Maintain clear understanding of university research efforts and the goals and priorities of the Office of Sponsored Research & Programs (OSRP).
Staff Management
Supervise, train and manage efforts of a team of major gift officers.
- Evaluate workload, set performance objectives, monitor performance and provide feedback on performance results,
- conduct regular staff meetings and share information to keep Advancement staff abreast of fundraising activities overall.
- Assure collaboration of major gift officers with ongoing policies and procedures related to gift acceptance, prospect management and alumni engagement activities.
