Job Summary

As Associate Vice President of Account Management, you'll be a leader in our client partnership group — responsible for managing and growing a portfolio of high-value client relationships, leading with strategy, and contributing to Ologie's business development efforts. In this role, you'll bring both depth and vision to client partnerships, serving as a trusted advisor while guiding and mentoring the account teams around you. You'll collaborate closely with leaders across strategy, creative, and project management to shape strong outcomes for clients and grow our impact together.

Responsibilities

  • Serve as the primary strategic lead and relationship owner for a portfolio of clients, typically overseeing seven to ten accounts.
  • Lead the strategic direction for each client relationship, ensuring alignment with their business goals and long-term vision.
  • Identify and pursue growth opportunities within client organizations, including organic account expansion and consultative upselling.
  • Champion cross-functional collaboration across strategy, creative, and project teams to ensure exceptional client outcomes.
  • Take full financial accountability for your client portfolio, with a focus on forecasting, profitability, and sound financial oversight.
  • Support new and existing business efforts, including pitches, planning, and proposal development.
  • Proactively navigate risk and manage complex client dynamics with transparency, empathy, and business acumen.
  • Mentor and support account directors and other client partnership team members, investing in their growth and development.
  • Perform additional tasks and responsibilities as assigned, consistent with the objectives and scope of the role.

Qualifications and Skills

  • 10+ years of relevant experience in client-facing roles in branding, marketing, or a related field.
  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience.
  • Proven ability to manage high-profile clients, build long-term relationships, and lead client teams toward shared goals.
  • Strong strategic thinking and business development skills, with the ability to identify and act on growth opportunities.
  • Outstanding communicator and presenter, able to articulate complex ideas clearly and persuasively to senior stakeholders.
  • Strong financial acumen in managing account profitability, forecasting, and growth planning.
  • Collaborative leader with experience mentoring others and fostering a culture of partnership and accountability.
  • Sound judgment and discernment, especially in high-stakes or ambiguous situations.
  • Commitment to continuous learning and staying current on industry trends and techniques.
  • Experience working in or with agencies in advertising, marketing, digital, brand, design, or research consultancies is preferred.
  • Knowledge of branding and marketing challenges in higher education and nonprofit sectors is strongly preferred.

Work Environment, Physical And Travel Requirements

  • Must be able to perform job duties from a home office setup, which may include prolonged periods of sitting, using a computer, and engaging in virtual communication.
  • Must be able to hear and speak clearly, with the ability to use a phone, video conferencing tools, communication software, and email to communicate effectively with employees and clients.
  • Must have adequate vision to view computer screens and read printed materials regularly.
  • Must be able to perform basic physical tasks such as reaching, standing, walking, and operating standard office equipment.
  • Must be able to lift up to 25 pounds occasionally.
  • Must be able to meet regular attendance and schedule requirements of approximately 9:00am to 5:00pm ET, Monday through Friday, with occasional extended time to meet business and client needs.
  • This position requires the ability to travel frequently, potentially up to 30% percent of the time, including overnight travel.
