Associate Technical Program Manager

About the role
This is a virtual/remote role. As an Associate Technical Program Manager, you will independently execute multiple small to medium-sized projects from planning to execution in a matrixed delivery environment across multiple business functions and engineering teams. You will manage projects using agile and waterfall methods.
Responsibilities
- Own the end-to-end planning and delivery of technical programs, from kickoff through launch and post-launch support.
- Create, document, and maintain project plans and coordinate tasks for timely completion of enterprise initiatives.
- Drive the creation of workflow diagrams, design documents, and product documentation, partnering with Engineering and Business teams.
- Coordinate and build understanding of technical project components, derisking development details and breaking down complex work for clarity.
- Monitor and elevate resource needs, discussing trade-offs to align with company goals.
- Manage dependencies, risks, and schedules, identifying upstream and downstream impacts of decisions and timeline changes.
- Lead and coordinate cross-functionally to ensure project objectives are met.
- Anticipate, document, and facilitate governance around initiative changes (e.g., scope, resources, schedules).
- Capture and report program status to stakeholders, including leadership, using clear, concise updates.
- Drive and communicate project milestone tracking, including launch announcements and dependent workstream management.
Skills
- Project Management Methodologies: Utilize analytical and organizational skills to keep projects on track, problem-solve, and collaborate across teams.
- Project Management and Presentation Tools: Proficiency in Microsoft Suite, JIRA, Confluence, Smartsheet, and other tools for agile and waterfall methodologies.
- Communication Skills: Strong written and verbal communication to drive stakeholder management, decision-making, and trust-building across all organizational levels.
- Technical Expertise: Apply technical knowledge to solve complex problems and provide informed recommendations.
- Leadership and Collaboration: Lead and motivate cross-functional teams, fostering collaboration, trust, and transparency.
- Drive Deliverables through Influence: Manage cross-organizational programs and hold teams accountable to timelines and deliverables without explicit authority.
- Remote Working: Experience working with remote teams in different countries and cultures.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems Management, or related field.
- 2+ years of experience managing technology projects in a highly technical environment, including agile methodologies.
- PMP (Project Management Professional) certification preferred.
- Proven experience in large-scale technology project management within a service-based organization is a plus.
- Experience managing multiple complex projects at scale is preferred.
Physical Requirements
- Be seated at a computer intermittently for up to eight hours a day.
- Move up to 10 pounds occasionally by lifting, carrying, pushing, pulling, or repositioning objects.
- Sitting for long periods while using office equipment such as computers and phones.
- Repetitive motions using hands and digits, such as typing and other movements in a normal working environment.
Pay
This role pays a base salary between $85,000 and $100,000 per annum, depending on skills, qualifications, responsibilities, experience, and location. Certain roles are eligible for additional rewards and incentives.
