About the Opportunity

The Associate, Skip Tracing role is part of the Loss Mitigation team and centers on managing the repossession process to recover collateral efficiently and reduce financial losses. The position involves locating clients and collateral, coordinating with recovery agents, and ensuring compliance with relevant regulations. This role contributes by supporting the organization’s asset recovery operations, which is essential for maintaining portfolio performance.

Responsibilities

• Identify accurate addresses to locate collateral or customers.
• Determine special customer statuses such as Bankruptcy or Active-Duty Military.
• Generate leads and contacts for Recovery Agents using available resources.
• Communicate regularly with Recovery Agents via phone, email, and recovery systems.
• Confirm lien holder status on collateral.
• Review credit applications and internal documents to assist in locating assets.
• Assign or reassign repossession orders after validating information.
• Ensure compliance with state and federal laws related to repossession.
• Report trends in recovery data to support underwriting models.
• Place outbound calls to vendors to verify recovery requirements.
• Stay informed on state legislation regarding impound and notification.
• Comply with compliance requests and requirements.
• Maintain confidentiality of company operations and customer information.
• Perform administrative tasks as needed.
• Undertake additional duties assigned by management.

Requirements

• Minimum of 1 year recent skip tracing experience in auto recovery.
• Experience in banking or collections.
• Bachelor's degree preferred or equivalent work experience.
• Experience within the auto finance field.
• Demonstrated career stability.

Pay Range and Compensation Package

$20.18 per hour plus a bonus.
