Associate / Senior Associate - Fixed Assets / Cost Segregation Engineer

About the role

We are seeking a Fixed Assets / Cost Segregation Associate or Senior Associate to join our Accounting Methods and Credit Services practice.

Responsibilities

• Supporting and performing cost segregation and fixed asset analyses for various projects such as construction, real estate, and renewable energy.
• Analyzing construction cost data, drawings, and documentation to classify assets and identify tax-eligible costs.
• Conducting site visits and fieldwork to evaluate building components and validate cost assumptions.
• Collaborating with clients and internal teams to gather technical documentation and ensure analysis accuracy.
• Preparing engineering reports, depreciation analyses, and supporting documentation for client deliverables.
• Identifying opportunities such as sales tax exemptions and contributing to process improvements using automation and data tools.
• Additional for Senior Associate: Leading engagement portions, managing client interactions, reviewing work, and mentoring junior staff.

Qualifications

• Minimum one year of relevant experience; background in engineering, construction, or related fields preferred.
• Bachelor’s degree in engineering, architecture, construction management, or related discipline.
• Understanding of construction processes, building systems, and tax depreciation principles.
• Experience reviewing technical drawings and large project cost data.
• Strong proficiency in Excel, data automation tools, business intelligence platforms, and scripting languages.
• Authorized to work in the U.S. without sponsorship; additional experience for Senior Associate includes at least two years in relevant roles.
