Associate or Senior Associate - Fixed Assets / Cost Segregation Engineer

About the role

Support and perform cost segregation and fixed asset analyses for construction, real estate, and renewable energy projects. Collaborate with clients, contractors, and internal teams to gather technical documentation, analyze construction data, and validate asset classifications. Prepare detailed reports, depreciation analyses, and supporting documentation for tax and accounting purposes. Identify opportunities for sales tax exemptions and contribute to workflow improvements using automation tools. For Senior Associates, lead project segments, oversee analyses, and review work of junior team members.

Qualifications

• Minimum one year of relevant experience in engineering, construction, or accounting; two years for senior roles.
• Bachelor’s degree in engineering, architecture, construction management, or related field.
• Understanding of construction processes, building systems, and tax depreciation principles.
• Experience reviewing technical drawings and large project cost datasets.
• Authorized to work in the U.S. without sponsorship.

Skills

• Proficiency in Excel, data automation tools (Power Query, Alteryx), BI tools (Power BI, Tableau), and scripting languages (SQL, Python, R).
• Strong analytical, communication, and collaboration skills.
• Ability to work independently and lead project segments.
