About the role
Lilly is seeking a Search Engine Optimization & Generative AI (SEO/Gen AI) associate to join the In-House Organic Search team. This role focuses on creating meaningful connections with consumers and healthcare providers, driving business results, and supporting Lilly's company purpose to make life better for people around the world.
Responsibilities
- Develop and optimize new and current keyword lists across customer groups and therapeutic areas with traditional keywords and GenAI prompts
- Perform technical site audits for all websites to maintain optimal site health
- Identify GenAI content opportunities and partner with tech, dev, accessibility, brand, and search counterparts daily
- Partner with cross-functional teams and marketing teams to establish Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) that align with site strategy and the overall channel mix
- Assist with reporting, keyword optimization, technical audits, content recommendations, competitive landscape analyses, and trends, and algorithm update reports
- Lead enterprise SEO strategy across multiple therapeutic areas, driving scalable growth in GenAI visibility (LLMs) and organic visibility within Search Engines
- Develop and optimize comprehensive keyword and content strategies aligned to user intent, therapeutic demand, and evolving GenAI search behaviors
- Monitor and interpret search industry trends, algorithm updates, and emerging GenAI ranking factors; proactively adjust strategy to maintain and grow competitive share of voice
- Identify, prioritize, and implement content, technical, and on-site optimization opportunities to improve crawlability, indexation, engagement, and conversion performance
- Partner cross-functionally with Brand, Product Managers, EWI, Paid Search, IHA, Analytics, and Medical/Legal/Regulatory teams to ensure cohesive search strategy and improve total GenAI/Search presence
- Implement structured data, content architecture enhancements, and high-intent page strategies to improve discoverability and GenAI citation potential
- Manage external agency and platform partnerships to drive innovation, testing roadmaps, and performance accountability
- Translate complex search data into clear insights and executive-ready recommendations that inform broader digital and business strategy
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s Degree
- 1+ years media agency or consumer and/or Pharma/Healthcare industry experience – can be general digital marketing experience or specific to Organic Search
- Qualified applicants must be authorized to work in the United States on a full-time basis
