Associate Scientist - DNA Core

About the role

The Associate Scientist will join the DNA Core facility, providing essential services for scientific research, including nucleic acid isolation and purification, Sanger DNA sequencing, gene expression, and genotyping. This role involves troubleshooting technical issues, communicating with team members, running PCR reactions, analyzing data, maintaining lab equipment, and ensuring a safe, efficient, and effective working environment.

Responsibilities

• Troubleshoots technical issues and communicates clearly with other team members
• Runs real-time and end-point qPCR reactions
• Analyzes and presents data
• Contributes to lab and equipment maintenance
• Maintains accurate and complete records consistent with company policy and legal requirements
• Performs laboratory work involving pipetting, computer work, and communication with researchers

Requirements

• A minimum of a B.S. in Molecular Biology, Cellular Biology, or a related field, with 0+ years of laboratory experience
• Strong troubleshooting and communication skills
• Experience with qPCR (real-time and end-point) techniques
• Attention to detail and strong organizational and record-keeping skills
• Ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a team

Pay

$70,300.00 - $110,100.00 annually
