Associate Roadway Engineer

About the role

The successful candidate will lead 3D highway/roadway design components associated with transportation improvement projects, locally administered transportation projects, and highway and bridges projects for a variety of clients including PennDOT, private developers, DRPA, DelDOT, and local municipalities and agencies in the Philadelphia metropolitan area.

Responsibilities

• Lead 3D highway/roadway design components associated with transportation improvement projects, locally administered transportation projects, and highway and bridges projects for a variety of clients including PennDOT, private developers, DRPA, DelDOT, and local municipalities and agencies in the Philadelphia metropolitan area.
• Work with a team of engineers to design new highways and streets as well as rehabilitation of existing highways and streets.

Requirements

• 4+ years relevant experience
• EIT certification and willingness to take the PE exam ASAP
• MicroStation and/or AutoCAD Experience
• Bentley InRoads
• Bluebeam PDF editor experience a plus
• Experience with plan production and assembly a plus

Qualifications

• Excellent communication skills – both oral and written
• Ability to work in a Team Environment is key

Skills

• Firm grasp of geometric design, grading and stormwater management, traffic control, signing
• Understanding of AASHTO and PennDOT design standards, quantity calculations, cost estimations, and plan creation (beneficial but not required)
