Roadway Engineering Associate

Responsibilities

Affords assistance in the design of various roadway projects such as urban streets, rural highways, bridge replacements, sidewalks, trails, complex interchanges, roundabouts, and intersection improvements. Collaborates with project team members, client representatives, and review agencies to address complex issues. Assists in analyzing, preparing, or modifying technical reports, drawings, plans, specifications, and permits for projects. Utilizes computer-assisted engineering and design software and equipment to prepare engineering and design documents. Participates in project site visits with other project team members, as required. Demonstrates strong attention to detail. Learns Alabama Department of Transportation systems, policies, and procedures. Learns standard operations, policies, and procedures of the firm, preferably within the A/E industry.

Qualifications

Education and Skills:

• Bachelor's degree from an accredited program
• Engineer Intern / Engineering in Training Certification, preferred
• Experience utilizing Microstation/Openroads software, preferred
