Associate Roadway Engineer

About the Role

Parsons has a career opportunity for an entry-level Associate Roadway Engineer. This position is part of our Critical Infrastructure team, where you’ll work on projects that improve communities, enhance mobility, and promote economic growth and sustainability.

Responsibilities

• Analyze and prepare roadway and Temporary Traffic Control Plans (TTCP) designs, calculations, and drawings for Expressway/Limited-Access facilities and Arterial/Local roads using DOT and/or local jurisdiction criteria.
• Develop 3D models of roadways using Corridor Modeling in GEOPAK and/or Open Roads.
• Approach tasks with an open mindset and propose innovative solutions to design problems.
• Prepare engineering reports and contract documents for review by a licensed engineer.
• Track and provide initial review tasks of technicians or designers.
• Manage timely completion of multiple assigned tasks.
• Communicate effectively with team members, internal design groups, and external parties as required.
• Present proposed design solutions in internal project meetings; may attend and contribute to presentations with external parties.
• Adhere to company marketing requirements by providing timely resume updates and participating in marketing campaigns.
• Ensure timely completion of time sheets and expense reports.
• Take ownership of personal career development by seeking and providing feedback, seizing opportunities to develop new skills, and setting and pursuing personal goals.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Civil or Transportation Engineering.

Skills

Working under the supervision of a licensed engineer, with a focus on roadway design, 3D modeling, and effective communication.

Pay

Salary Range: $26.59 - $46.54 per hour.
