Associate Roadway Engineer
About the role
Parsons is one of the world’s largest transportation planning, engineering, and construction firms and is now hiring for an Associate Roadway Engineer based in our growing Troy, Michigan office!
Responsibilities
- Aid in the development of highway and road geometric design, including horizontal and vertical geometry, cross sections, super-elevations diagrams, gore details, vertical clearance calculations, and grading plans.
- Perform material quantity takeoffs, estimates, and surveys.
- Utilize design software to implement project designs.
- Provide input and technical guidance to CAD designers, drafters, designers, and other engineers working on the same project.
- Perform other responsibilities associated with this position as may be appropriate.
Requirements
- Bachelor's or Master's Degree in Civil Engineering
- Some related work experience and/or internships required
- An Engineer In Training (EIT) Certificate is preferred
- Basic process engineering knowledge, as well as a working knowledge of CAD and other PC software packages typically associated with engineering
- Strong communication skills and the ability to effectively communicate both written and orally with other engineers and clients
Qualifications
