Responsibilities

Aids in ensuring University design and construction policies support the capital program in compliance with state and federal codes and regulations.

Assists in developing policies, procedures, and contract documents related to design and construction, including building codes and safety regulations.

Supports the unit in providing technical advice on design and construction matters.

Uses judgment to address issues of moderate complexity, aligning with established standards and guidelines.

Requirements

  • Working knowledge of planning, design, and construction procedures and industry practices.
  • Demonstrated understanding of contract documents related to the design and construction industry.
  • Understanding of UC Irvine's organization, including infrastructure, rules, regulations, policies, and strategic building plans.
  • Proficient analytical, organizational, and problem recognition/resolution skills.
  • Strong written, verbal, and interpersonal communication skills, including negotiation and political acumen.
  • Proven team building and facilitation skills.
  • Experience organizing and managing large group events.
  • Bachelor's degree in a related field or equivalent experience/training.
  • Minimum of 3 years of experience in a related field.
