Primary Functions
- Oversight and direct supervision of the Internal Medicine Residency Program
- Accountable for all program outcomes through leadership and administrative oversight
- Identifies and establishes meaningful educational support relationships
- Ensures learning objectives are accomplished through patient care and clinical teaching
- Maintains and develops curricula, ensures quality clinical education, and works directly with residents
- Recruits, determines qualifications, and calibrates residency faculty
- Oversees resident recruitment, scholarly activity, and ensures appropriate milestone development
- Collaborates with academic consortium to develop and ensure quality curriculum
- Identifies key indicators to monitor and measure program outcomes
- Collaborates to develop and maintain residency budget
- Ensures residency policies and procedures align with those of Prime Healthcare
- Collaborates to ensure alignment between residency program and Medical Administration
Qualifications
- Minimum of five (5) years of experience in administrative, core faculty member in an ACGME-accredited Internal Medicine residency program
- M.D. or D.O. degree required
- Board-certified in Internal Medicine
- Actively licensed or willing to acquire license in State of Missouri (Required)
- Experience as a Core Faculty, Associate Director, or Director of an Internal Medicine Residency Training Program
- Minimum of five (5) years of experience in teaching in a residency program preferred
- Comprehensive and detailed understanding of national accreditation policies (ACGME)
- Demonstrated ability to manage detailed projects
- History of scholarly activities and research
- Excellent interpersonal, organizational, and leadership skills
- Passion for resident and student teaching and a commitment to caring for the urban, underserved patient population
- Comprehensive understanding of operational management, including budget preparation
