Associate Program Director-Internal Medicine Residency Program

Primary Functions

  • Oversight and direct supervision of the Internal Medicine Residency Program
  • Accountable for all program outcomes through leadership and administrative oversight
  • Identifies and establishes meaningful educational support relationships
  • Ensures learning objectives are accomplished through patient care and clinical teaching
  • Maintains and develops curricula, ensures quality clinical education, and works directly with residents
  • Recruits, determines qualifications, and calibrates residency faculty
  • Oversees resident recruitment, scholarly activity, and ensures appropriate milestone development
  • Collaborates with academic consortium to develop and ensure quality curriculum
  • Identifies key indicators to monitor and measure program outcomes
  • Collaborates to develop and maintain residency budget
  • Ensures residency policies and procedures align with those of Prime Healthcare
  • Collaborates to ensure alignment between residency program and Medical Administration

Qualifications

  • Minimum of five (5) years of experience in administrative, core faculty member in an ACGME-accredited Internal Medicine residency program
  • M.D. or D.O. degree required
  • Board-certified in Internal Medicine
  • Actively licensed or willing to acquire license in State of Missouri (Required)
  • Experience as a Core Faculty, Associate Director, or Director of an Internal Medicine Residency Training Program
  • Minimum of five (5) years of experience in teaching in a residency program preferred
  • Comprehensive and detailed understanding of national accreditation policies (ACGME)
  • Demonstrated ability to manage detailed projects
  • History of scholarly activities and research
  • Excellent interpersonal, organizational, and leadership skills
  • Passion for resident and student teaching and a commitment to caring for the urban, underserved patient population
  • Comprehensive understanding of operational management, including budget preparation
