About the role

The Department of Neurobiology at the University of Pittsburgh School of Medicine seeks an outstanding investigator to join our faculty at the rank of Associate Professor. The ideal candidate will study neural circuits and molecular mechanisms underlying motor control, sensorimotor integration, neural development, plasticity, regeneration, and repair of the central nervous system. Areas of particular interest include developmental neuroscience, systems neuroscience, neural circuit organization and function, neural regeneration and repair, movement disorders, and translational neuroscience.

Responsibilities

  • Establish and maintain an innovative, internationally recognized, and externally funded research program
  • Contribute to graduate and medical student education
  • Have a history of NIH funding

Requirements

  • PhD, MD, or equivalent doctoral degree in neuroscience or a related biomedical discipline
  • Demonstrated record of scientific excellence, scholarly achievement, and sustained extramural funding
