About the role
The Department of Rehabilitative & Reconstructive Dentistry, Division of Orthodontics, seeks a dynamic team leader for the full-time faculty position of Orthodontics Program Director. This role will build upon established educational foundations to advance the Department’s and School’s mission. The Program Director will oversee recruitment, training, and supervision of postgraduate students in Orthodontics, ensuring compliance with Commission on Dental Accreditation requirements.
Responsibilities
- Didactic and clinical education of postgraduate and pre-doctoral students
- Management of clinical staff
- Clinical supervision of patient care
- Strategic planning and curriculum management
- Financial oversight of the program
- Leadership in evidence-based postgraduate education and clinical care
- Development of congenial working relationships with students, staff, and faculty
- Participation in School of Dentistry committees and governance
Requirements
- DDS or DMD degree or equivalent
- Eligibility for licensure in Kentucky
- Completion of a CODA-accredited Orthodontics training program
- Diplomate of the American Board of Orthodontics
- Commitment to teaching and mentoring residents and pre-doctoral students
- Dedication to providing full-scope, high-quality patient care
- Strong interpersonal and leadership skills
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience teaching research methodology to postdoctoral residents
- Supervision of postdoctoral resident research
- Track record of securing extramural research funding
