About the Role
The Department of Mechanical Engineering at the University of South Florida invites applications for a non-tenure track faculty position in Aerospace or Mechanical Engineering. The position is available at the Associate Professor of Instruction level and is expected to commence in the Spring of 2027 or earlier.
Responsibilities
The successful candidate will be expected to:
- Teach courses in Aerospace or Mechanical Engineering
- Develop laboratories
- Mentor undergraduate and graduate students
Qualifications
Minimum Qualifications:
- Doctoral degree in Aerospace Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or a closely related field from an accredited institution
- Proven track record of teaching
Preferred Qualifications:
- Demonstrated excellence in teaching and teaching publications
- Potential for development of laboratories
- Strong commitment to mentoring undergraduate and graduate students

The Department of Mechanical Engineering has 30 full-time faculty members and offers B.S., M.S., and Ph.D. degrees in Mechanical and Aerospace Engineering, as well as a minor in Aerospace Engineering.
