About the role
The Department of Mechanical Engineering within the School of Mechanical and Automotive Engineering (SMAE) at Clemson University invites applications for a position at the Clemson University Restoration Institute (CURI) campus in North Charleston. The position is targeted at the level of Associate or Full Professor.
Responsibilities
- Build a strong research program that attracts federal, state, and corporate funding by leveraging the state-of-the-art and unique drive train test rig facility at CURI.
- Contribute to the Department's core graduate and undergraduate teaching missions.
Requirements
Candidates must possess a Ph.D. degree in Mechanical Engineering or a closely related field with the potential to develop an internationally recognized, interdisciplinary research program. Appointment to this position requires the receipt of the Ph.D. degree prior to the start date of appointment.

Faculty are expected to actively contribute to the Department's core graduate and undergraduate teaching missions. Skills
The successful candidate will have expertise in modeling, simulation and advanced controls of wind turbines, with a particular focus on dynamic load assessment, failure prediction, condition monitoring, and advanced control strategies for stable drive-train test-rig operation.
