Position Information

Title: Assistant/Associate Professor of Clinical Psychology (Non-Tenure)
Status: Exempt, Full-time, 11-month position
Reports to: Program Director of the Hawai‘i School of Professional Psychology at Chaminade University of Honolulu.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

  • Teach 18 teaching credit hours per academic year in the PsyD program
  • Provide comprehensive advising on dissertations and student research
  • Actively participate in University, School, and Department committees
  • Actively participate in accreditation process
  • Actively participate in program assessment, curriculum development, and grant writing
  • Actively develop scholarship (e.g., publications, conference presentations)

Other Requirements

  • Attend meetings and provide service as required for the program, school, university and community committees and work groups

Education and Experience

  • Minimum Doctoral Degree in Clinical Psychology
  • Licensure: Must be a licensed or license-eligible as a Clinical Psychologist in the State of Hawai‘i
  • Preferred: Two (2) years of teaching experience in a university/college setting

Knowledge, Skills, & Abilities

  • Must possess high integrity and ethical standards
  • Ability to create and facilitate a meaningful learning environment
  • Excellent written, verbal, and interpersonal communication skills
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, Google Workspace applications, and/or related software
  • Excellent project management skills and ability to prioritize work and resources
  • Ability to meet deadlines
  • Interpret data and prepare reports

Physical Requirements

  • Duties involve light work in an office and community setting and requires a minimum of physical effort with intermittent sitting, standing, climbing stairs, and walking inclines.
  • Must be able to lift 20 pounds, walk the campus with ease, and have excellent motor skills.
  • Must have finger dexterity.
  • Must be able to communicate information and ideas so that others will understand.
