Associate Production Test Engineer

About the role

Solidus is seeking a Production Test Engineer (PTE) to support our product lifecycle from development through high-rate production and depot activities. Key responsibilities include validating prime hardware against technical data package requirements, ensuring test equipment compliance, troubleshooting complex test failures, leading root-cause investigations, and managing test equipment infrastructure.

Responsibilities

• Support the test process through one or more phases of the product life cycle, including product development, transition to production, sustained production, and depot activities
• Validate and ensure compliance of the prime hardware to technical data package requirements and supporting test equipment
• Perform troubleshooting and problem solving of test failures
• Identify opportunities in test processes to improve efficiency, yields, and capacity
• Troubleshoot and provide accurate rework instructions for the product hardware
• Create and maintain spares and the test equipment obsolescence plan
• Create Basis of Estimates (BOE) to estimate costs to add additional capacity, new capabilities, and equipment obsolescence
• Lead projects to reduce test time, improve the test process through analysis of predictive metrics of trends, failure modes, and test yields
• Develop test flows and contribute to test capacity analysis
• Maintain changes to the test equipment technical data package which includes drawings, test instructions, test position manuals, and system software
• Aid in non-routine fault isolation, diagnosis, and repair of the product or test equipment
• Lead root cause and corrective action investigations and present findings, utilizing fault trees and knowledge point plans
• Perform risk assessments and support the program’s risk register reviews
• Lead projects and be responsible for execution
• Other duties as assigned

Requirements

• Cultural fit amongst a collaborative team environment
• Active Secret Clearance
• Bachelor's degree in Science, Technology, Engineering or Mathematics (STEM)
• 2+ years of relevant software engineering experience
• Proven ability to diagnose, isolate, and repair technical failures in electrical or mechanical hardware
• Experience reading and interpreting engineering drawings, schematics, and technical data package requirements
• Hands-on experience operating, maintaining, or configuring specialized automated test equipment (ATE)
