Associate Production Manager, Data Center Manufacturing

About the role

Tesla is seeking an exceptional Associate Production Manager to join the Data Center Manufacturing team. The Associate Manager will manage, inspire, and develop a team of Supervisors, Associates, Technicians, and Leads, providing hands‑on support, leadership, and direction. The role emphasizes analytical abilities, organizational skills, and attention to detail in an environment where superior work is encouraged, noticed, and rewarded.

Responsibilities

• Develop and maintain standardized work instructions used by production associates.
• Support the development of Process Failure Modes Effects Analysis (PFMEA) with Manufacturing Process Engineers to identify critical production risks.
• Create training programs and hiring plans for production associates.
• Support control plans to ensure critical features are controlled throughout the production process.
• Manage Supervisors, Leads, and Production Associates and develop team structures used in the Tesla Factory.
• Support issue resolution, including root‑cause investigation and corrective‑action tracking.
• Ensure quality standards are met across the entire production process and prevent defects from leaving a station or team area.

Requirements

• 5+ years of production and operations leadership experience with LEAN Manufacturing and Continuous Improvement.
• Thorough knowledge of production systems and processes.
• Experience managing production teams, including hiring and developing new team members.
• Familiarity with a broad variety of measurement and inspection techniques.
• Ability to develop and work with production performance metrics (safety, quality, delivery, and costs).
• Proven ability to work well under pressure while managing competing demands and tight deadlines.
• Engaged, proactive, and positive attitude in challenging circumstances, taking full accountability for assignments.
