What You'll Do
- Manage, mentor, and lead a team of equipment and process engineers at Gigafactory 1 focused on welding manufacturing equipment and E-coat paint line
- Ensure safety training is current, document EHS incidents, correct workplace hazards, and empower continuous improvement operations
- Build and improve management systems for safe, high availability, high-quality equipment with low cycle time
- Own and drive improvement of KPIs, including equipment availability, product yield, cycle time, and cost
- Coach engineers and technicians to implement equipment upgrades and process changes to increase capacity, reduce costs, and improve yield
- Lead and assist in resolving unplanned down events and drive permanent RCCAs using the 3D/8D process where applicable
- Collaborate with MFG engineering and controls teams to install and debug new processes and equipment
What You'll Bring
- Degree in an engineering discipline or equivalent experience
- Experience leading teams in high-volume, automated manufacturing facilities, including assembly and robotics
- Exemplary track record of high-impact contributions both as an individual engineer and manager
- Hands-on experience with lean manufacturing principles
- Able to manage and execute multiple large-scale projects simultaneously, adjusting priorities to meet changing needs
- Outstanding written and verbal communication skills
- Experience in mechanical, automation, and controls engineering, and teaching structured problem-solving methodologies like DOE and root cause analysis. Understanding equipment component behavior is a plus
