About the role
As an Associate Producer at Spectrum News, you will collaborate with producers to craft compelling stories. Responsibilities
- Collaborate with producers to develop and produce engaging stories
- Tackle sensitive topics and tell character-driven stories
- Represent community issues and connect with local audiences
- Work across multiple platforms including TV, connected television, and digital
Requirements
- Experience: Television news - 0-2 years
- Education: High school diploma
- Technical Skills: Knowledge of current events, social media, and industry trends
- Skills: Ability to collaborate, news writing skills, and attention to detail
- Travel Ability: Must be open to travel to discover the important stories in your neighborhood and willing to interact with the community
- Schedule: Ability to work different shifts and be flexible with schedule changes
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Broadcast Journalism or related field, or comparable television work experience preferred
- Working knowledge of general office computer software, newsroom software, and basic non-linear editing systems
