Responsibilities

As an Associate Producer, you will collaborate with producers in the newsroom to craft compelling stories. Your creativity and upbeat attitude will be essential as you tackle sensitive topics and tell character-driven stories. Alongside the team, you'll represent what's happening in your community and connect audiences with the stories that matter. Each day is fast paced in a constantly evolving work environment with new stories to tell and perspectives to uncover.

Qualifications

Required:

  • Television news experience: 0-2 years
  • High school diploma
  • Knowledge of current events, social media, and industry trends
  • Ability to collaborate, news writing skills, and attention to detail
  • Must be open to travel to discover the important stories in your neighborhood and willing to interact with the community
  • Ability to work different shifts and be flexible with schedule changes

Preferred:

  • Bachelor's degree in Broadcast Journalism or related field, comparable television work experience preferred
  • Working knowledge of general office computer software, newsroom software and basic non-linear editing systems
  • May be required to lift up to five pounds

Working conditions

  • Works primarily inside a climate-controlled environment throughout the year but might be assigned field duties on occasion
  • Semi-noisy newsroom setting
