Associate Producer
About the role
CBS Newspath is seeking an Associate Producer to coordinate news production and newsgathering operations for its Regional team. This position involves managing the network's response to breaking news, responding to video and editorial requests, clipping and publishing Newspath video and scripts, and assisting in the transmission and distribution of live video, edited video, and correspondent packages.
Responsibilities
- Manage the network's response to breaking news
- Respond to video and editorial requests from CBS broadcasts, owned stations, affiliates, and clients
- Clip and publish Newspath video and scripts
- Aid in the transmission and distribution of live video, edited video, and correspondent packages
- Work directly with stations/affiliates across the country
- Spot viral and pre-trending content and turn it around for our brand
- Be familiar with all major social media platforms and engage audiences on a digital level
- Include weekend and nightside responsibilities
Requirements
- 2-3 years local and/or network TV news experience or show producer experience preferred
- Strong editorial judgement & excellent writing skills
- Strong editing skills a must
- Avid preferable
- Highly developed relationship building skills
- Ability to multi-task and thrive in a dynamic, quickly-changing environment
- A focus on multi-media content
- Understanding TV newsgathering and transmission technology
- Knowledge of regional television markets and station relationships a plus
Qualifications
- Degree in broadcast journalism or related field preferred

- Familiarity with social media platforms (Facebook, Twitter, Snapchat, Instagram, YouTube)
- Editing skills
- Multi-tasking and dynamic environment skills
- Understanding of TV newsgathering and transmission technology
- Knowledge of regional television markets and station relationships

Pay
Hiring Salary Range: $63,000 - 66,000. The hiring salary range for this position applies to New York, California, Colorado, Washington state, and most other geographies. Starting pay for the successful applicant depends on a variety of job-related factors, including but not limited to geographic location, market demands, experience, training, and education.
Schedule
The position includes weekend and nightside responsibilities.
