About the role

Buro Happold is seeking a talented and experienced Mechanical Engineer to join their team in Los Angeles, California. The Associate Principal Mechanical Engineer will provide technical expertise and leadership to the Building Environments Group.

Responsibilities

  • Provide leadership for project teams driving successful outcomes and ensuring project objectives are delivered
  • Lead the design and technical specifications of mechanical systems, ensuring quality output
  • Manage project resources, client relationships, and deliver high-quality solutions
  • Guide graduates and other junior engineers through their professional development
  • Communicate directly with clients and maintain client relationships
  • Actively contribute ideas and innovative solutions across various projects
  • Direct multiple projects across the group, ensuring the successful implementation of engineering solutions while ensuring financial success
  • Ensure practices, policies, strategy, and services represent the client’s best interests and comply with current legislation and building codes

Requirements

12+ years of extensive experience in Mechanical Engineering design within the building services and construction industry

Demonstrated experience in a senior role within MEP for an architectural engineering consultancy

BS/MS in Mechanical Engineering or relevant degree

P.E., professional engineer

LEED AP accredited preferred

Experience using Revit and computational analysis tools

Ideal sector experience in Aviation/Transportation, Cultural Projects, Labs, Commercial, and Higher Education

Demonstrated ability to manage multiple projects, teams, and deadlines while ensuring client satisfaction

Qualifications

Salary range of $150,000 to $185,000

This will be determined based on factors such as geographic location, skills, education, and/or experience
