Responsibilities

  • Manage a diverse caseload from inception through resolution.
  • Oversee and contribute towards case strategy.
  • Draft pleadings, answer written discovery, take depositions, and participate in arbitrations and trials.
  • Take and defend depositions of parties, fact witnesses, and expert witnesses.
  • Conduct comprehensive legal research and analysis to develop sound case strategies.
  • Communicate with clients, the court, witnesses, opposing counsel, and co-counsel.
  • Provide regular and timely updates to clients on case status, strategy, and potential outcomes.
  • Work collaboratively with partners, associates, and legal staff, and provide mentorship to junior attorneys.
  • Manage cases while adhering to billing and budget requirements.
  • Build and foster strong client relationships.
  • Able to travel for court, client meetings, etc.
  • Able to work a hybrid schedule from our Philadelphia office.

Requirements

  • 3+ years of experience, preferably in casualty litigation.
  • J.D. from an accredited law school.
  • PA and NJ bar license, active and in good standing, required; DE bar license also a plus.
  • Strong research, writing, and analytical skills.
  • Experience drafting pleadings, answering written discovery, leading depositions and handling mediations.
  • Experience with arbitrations and/or second-chair trial experience.
  • Experience in premises liability, general liability, product liability, personal injury, motor vehicle, property damage, construction and labor law, and insurance defense.
  • Excellent academic credentials as well as strong research, writing, organization, and analytical skills.
  • Excellent communication skills.
  • Proven track record of success in courtroom appearances, depositions, and settlement negotiations.
