Pursue your passion and potential at Optum, a global organization dedicated to improving health outcomes. As an Associate Patient Care Coordinator OBGYN, you will play a crucial role in supporting the care team and enhancing patient experiences.

Responsibilities

  • Greet patients and visitors in a prompt, courteous and helpful manner
  • Obtain accurate and updated patient information, such as name, address, insurance information
  • Perform insurance verification on the date of service
  • Check in and check out patients
  • Schedule appointments in an organized and efficient manner
  • Obtain patient signatures for required documents
  • File and maintain medical records
  • Confirm and schedule appointments
  • Follow the Payment Security policy and procedures according to Optum Medical guidelines
  • Perform referral documentation promptly
  • Perform certain follow-up services for patients in a prompt and courteous manner, such as scheduling specialist appointments
  • Adhere to the standards identified via Sparq regarding Optum Employee Policies
  • Work cohesively with fellow employees to achieve specific team goals
  • Comfortable working in a high pace environment
  • Ensure the continuity of care through scheduling and tracking systems
  • Provide effective communication to patient/family team members and other healthcare professionals as evidenced by documentation, case conferences, communication notes, and evaluations
  • Comply with administrative policies to ensure quality of care
  • Demonstrate precision and efficiency in scanning documents and monitoring the fax server, retrieving and / or scanning documents and assigning to the appropriate electronic chart

Requirements

  • High School Diploma or GED
  • 1+ years of computer proficiency experience (multi-task through multiple applications including Microsoft Outlook, Excel, and Word)
  • 1+ years of customer service experience
  • 6 months plus of Healthcare related experience
  • Ability to travel to other offices if needed
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment - checking in and checking out approximately 300 patients per day

Qualifications

  • Experience working with an electronic health record
  • Knowledge of Medical terms
  • 1+ years of experience working in medical front office position performing duties such as scheduling appointments, checking patients in/out, insurance verification, collecting co-pays, and maintaining medical records

  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills; ability to speak clearly and concisely, convey information in a manner that others can understand, and ability to understand and interpret information from others
