As an Associate Patient Care Coordinator, we are often the first point of contact for our patients and their families. Our professionalism, expertise and dedication help ensure that our patients receive the quality of care they need. We are diligent in obtaining complete and accurate insurance and demographic information in a timely manner, enabling us to provide high-quality, compassionate health care service to all who need them, regardless of their ability to pay.
Positions may be available in the following areas: Emergency Room, Operating Room, Outpatient, Infusion, Maternal Child and Transplant Services.
Location: Mercy Gilbert Medical Center (MGMC), 3555 S Val Vista Dr, Gilbert, AZ 85297
Responsibilities
- Communicates directly with patients and/or families either in person or on the phone to complete the registration process by collecting patient demographics, health information, and verifying insurance eligibility/benefits
- Responds to patient and caregivers' inquiries related to routine and sensitive topics always in a compassionate and respectful manner
- Utilizes computer systems to enter, access or verify patient data in real-time ensuring accuracy and completeness of information
- Checks in and obtains all demographics and insurance information for patients
- Answers billing questions
- Delivers and creates patient estimates based off insurance benefits
Requirements
- High School Diploma/GED
- 6+ months of experience in an office setting, customer service setting (over the phone or face to face), phone support role or call center environment
- Basic level of proficiency with computer and Windows PC applications, including the ability to learn new and complex computer system applications
- Ability to work from 9:00pm - 7:30am on Wednesday, Thursday, Friday & Saturday
Preferred Qualifications
- 1+ years of Registration experience in a hospital or medical setting
- Understanding of medical terminology
- Working knowledge of insurance policies and procedures and patient care setting

Pay
The hourly pay for this role will range from $16.00 to $29.00 per hour based on full-time employment. Pay is based on several factors including but not limited to local labor markets, education, work experience, and certifications.
