About the role

The University of Southern California (USC) Division of Pediatrics and the Division of Surgery at Children’s Hospital Los Angeles (CHLA) are actively seeking a full-time board-certified physician leader for the position of Chief of the Division of Pediatric Cardiothoracic Surgery and Co-Director of the Heart Institute at Children’s Hospital Los Angeles (CHLA).

Responsibilities

  • Provide oversight for faculty activities and the delivery of medical care in each of the critical environments covered.
  • Support the academic success and professional development of our faculty, fellows and team members.

Requirements

  • Board-certified pediatric cardiothoracic surgeon.
  • Strong orientation toward academic, clinical, research and training excellence.
  • Accomplished clinical research record.
  • Prior successes in developing and mentoring faculty members.
  • Ability to inspire and motivate through vision and purpose.
  • Demonstrated track record of bringing teams together.
  • Academic credentials of merit.
  • Effectively managed people around short-term and long-term objectives.
  • Deep understanding of the business of academic medicine.
  • Supported resource stewardship initiatives.
  • Clear and professional communicator.
  • Ability to build high-performing teams.
  • Strategic thinking and decision-making skills.
