About the Opportunity

The Associate, Operations (East Branch) - New England plays a critical role in supporting and advancing the organization's disaster response capabilities in the New England region. The position involves managing relationships with local emergency management entities, coordinating disaster response activities, and supporting volunteer leadership development. This role ensures effective collaboration across teams and stakeholders, directly contributing to the organization's mission to respond rapidly to disasters.

Responsibilities

• Implement strategies to enhance rapid and local disaster response.
• Develop and maintain partnerships with disaster assistance organizations at various government levels.
• Support recruitment, onboarding, and development of volunteer leaders.
• Manage purchasing and expense approvals aligned with branch budget.
• Participate as a key member of the Emergency Operations Team during disasters.
• Fulfill designated roles within the Emergency Operations Center and support its activation and deactivation.
• Coordinate disaster response efforts with local, state, federal, and non-governmental agencies.
• Facilitate communication between field operations, emergency command centers, and external partners.

Requirements

• 1-3 years of relevant experience in military, disaster response, emergency management, or first responder roles.
• Experience in personnel management, including recruiting, training, and developing team members.
• Proficiency with technology tools for remote communication and coordination.
• Proven ability to lead volunteers is preferred.
• Ability to work flexible hours including evenings and weekends.
• Reliable transportation for local travel; willingness to travel up to 25% for broader organizational activities.

Pay

$48,936.25 - $72,987.32 per year
