About the Role
This position provides agency education and instruction on the web-based tools of Johnson & Johnson and USLI to appointed independent insurance agents. The role includes presenting specific USLI products and developing sales strategies targeted at those products. The geographic territory is the State of California, requiring extensive travel and a minimum of 20 agency visits per week.
Responsibilities
- Develop a list of targeted USLI products and present these products during each agency visit to promote regular use.
- Conduct web training for agents and CSRs on:
- USLI products
- Other J&J products
- Raters
- JJPF
- Accounting tools
- Any other web-based tools created for agency use
- Assist CSRs and agents with questions about doing business with J&J, ensuring the right contact is engaged.
- Develop weekly travel plans to execute 20 agency visits per week.
- Interact with Territory Managers, Marketing Representatives, and Production Supervisors/Managers to identify and follow up on sales opportunities.
- Update a weekly “Dashboard Report” with sales data to track results of agency visits and sales activities; present the report at weekly or bi-weekly meetings.
- Utilize USLI sales training tools to build relationships, organize and execute effective sales calls, and train agency representatives on web-based tools.
- Provide feedback and ideas for developing and revising a Web Products Sales Sheet.
- Maintain all education requirements as set forth by management.
- Maintain a valid driver’s license and eligibility for company auto insurance.
Qualifications
- College degree or equivalent business experience preferred but not required.
- Expected to pursue continuing education and insurance designations/licenses as outlined in the training and development plan (self-study required).
- Strong communication, organizational, and networking skills.
- Ability to work independently in a fast-paced environment and remain flexible under pressure.
- Open to coaching and continuous improvement.
Skills & Abilities
- General knowledge of the Property-Casualty industry.
- Knowledge of J&J and USLI Property & Casualty products, including the ability to differentiate them from competitors.
- Interest in selling products and services based on customer needs.
- Strong customer service skills and ability to maintain confidentiality.
- Capacity to analyze information and perform general math tasks.
- Research skills and attention to detail.
- Decision-making, coordination, and organization of weekly agency visits and follow-up items.
- Ability to multi-task, prioritize, make quick decisions, and adapt in a fast-paced environment.
- Proficiency in MS Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
- Team player with the ability to work productively with J&J and USLI teammates.
- Excellent oral and written communication skills.

- Strong negotiation skills.
Physical Demands
- Ability to sit or stand for long periods, occasional stooping, and reaching.
