Associate Manufacturing Technician

HonorVet Technologies (SDVOSB) provides specialized and scalable staffing solutions to pharmaceutical companies, medical device companies, biotech organizations, CROs, research laboratories, and life sciences organizations across the United States. This role supports contract, direct-hire, project-based, and consulting staffing needs in clinical research, pharmacovigilance, regulatory affairs, quality assurance, quality control, medical affairs, manufacturing, validation, and scientific operations.

About the role

The Associate Manufacturing Technician will be a critical contributor in a mission-driven company making significant investments in US manufacturing, international expansion, and product innovation. The successful candidate will operate and maintain highly automated and advanced manufacturing equipment for the production of a signature product. This individual will be trained and cross-trained to operate and repair technologies including heat staking, laser welding, mechanical swaging, printed circuit board (PCB) handling and testing, robotic automation, metal stamping and bending, form/fill/seal medical packaging, and high-speed discrete component assembly. The role requires mechanical aptitude, technical ability, troubleshooting skills, and a willingness to work in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.

Responsibilities

• Perform equipment setup, operation, repair, and basic daily/weekly preventative maintenance tasks to meet safety, quality, and efficiency standards with minimal supervision.
• Maintain machine raw material feeds, clear faults, and resolve stoppages on automated equipment.
• Utilize human machine interfaces (HMIs) to identify and correct shifts in process control.
• Ensure adequate raw material preparation and timely job execution to meet on-time delivery goals.
• Execute equipment inspections and generate emergency, corrective, and/or preventative work orders as needed.
• Troubleshoot mechanical errors, safety issues, or operating inefficiencies within production processes.
• Use computer systems to support material inventory and quality management processes.
• Participate in manufacturing processes for new product design transfer, process development, equipment validations, and process validations.
• Investigate and resolve process issues within assigned equipment cells.
• Perform routine cleaning, inspection, and lubrication of machinery.
• Maintain measuring and monitoring devices, and use measuring tools to ensure correct tolerances.
• Work from specifications, work orders, and general instructions from Production Supervisor/Team Lead.
• Follow standard operating procedures for material handling, record keeping, packaging, and shipment preparation, adhering to Good Manufacturing Practices (GMPs).
• Notify Team Leader or Production Supervisor of any discrepancies to maintain quality standards and safety.
• Demonstrate excellent attention to detail, organization, and ability to work independently with minimal instruction.
• Collaborate in small groups and cross-functional teams to troubleshoot issues and implement corrective actions.
• Maintain a clean work environment suitable for medical device manufacturing and cleanroom production.
• Perform other duties as required.

Requirements

• High school Diploma/GED or at least 3 years of on-the-job manufacturing experience.
• Proficiency in English to read documentation, communicate, and write.
• Mathematical skills, including knowledge of basic arithmetic, algebra, and/or geometry.

Skills

• Experience working, debugging, and/or maintaining highly automated equipment (preferred).
• Experience with Human Machine Interfaces (HMIs) (preferred).
• Familiarity with manufacturing instrumentation such as micrometers, calipers, feeler gauges, dial indicators, and gauge blocks (preferred).
• Self-starter capable of handling multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment.
• Keen eye for quality, dependability, and collaborative teamwork with a positive attitude.
• Manufacturing experience in the Medical Device Industry (preferred).
• Previous experience with discrete assembly and robotics (preferred).
• Familiarity with optical gauging and video microscopes (preferred).
• Willingness to work in a cleanroom environment (preferred).
• Experience with assembling, debugging, and optimizing discrete component assembly processes (preferred).
• Experience with technologies such as laser welding, heat staking, and ultrasonic welding (preferred).
• Experience in a start-up production environment (a plus).
• Mechanical aptitude and knowledge of automated machines and tools, including design, uses, repair, and maintenance.
• Knowledge of raw materials, measurement instruments, production processes, quality control, and manufacturing techniques.
• Problem-solving skills, including root cause analysis.

Physical Requirements

• Required to stand for at least 75% of working time per shift, with walking at least 50% of working time per shift.
• Required to reach above shoulder frequently and below waist occasionally.
• Required to push and pull.
• Ability to lift up to 20 lbs occasionally, and 5-20 lbs frequently.

Schedule

Monday–Thursday, 6:00 AM–6:00 PM

This is an in-person role located in Acton, MA, with a duration of 3 months.
