Associate Manager, Cable and Harness Design
About the role
The Associate Manager, Cable and Harness Design will lead a team of approximately 12 engineers responsible for electromechanical engineering research, design, development, and production support for the Harness Core Team. They will provide functional management and technical direction, coordinate with functional groups throughout the product development lifecycle, and communicate technical status and issues internally and externally.
Responsibilities
- Provide leadership on a fast-paced team from requirements through development and production.
- Ensure coordination between functional groups during the product development life cycle.
- Communicate technical status and issues internally to program leadership, technical leadership, and functional leadership as well as externally to the customer.
- Conduct personnel management for a portion of the NGI Wiring team, including recruitment, selection, and training.
- Assure performance assessment, work assignments, salary, and recognition/disciplinary actions.
- Participate in technical reviews and audits.
Requirements
Must be a US Citizen and able to obtain a DoD Secret clearance. Basic Qualifications: Bachelors degree from an accredited college in a related STEM discipline, or equivalent experience focused in STEM, engineering leadership, or an MBA degree. Prior experience as a cable/harness design or cable/harness manufacturing lead.
Qualifications
Staffing and headcount management experience. Control Account Management (CAM) experience within an Earned Value Management (EVM) system.
Skills
- Experience in leading Zuken schematic/cabling drafting tool (or similar) and Creo 3D modeling tool (or similar) design teams, programs, or projects.
- Collate with subsystems, survivability, environmental, and other specialty engineers to develop unique cables for various space products.
- Experience in presenting to leadership and customers in design reviews and technical interchange meetings.
