About the role

The Lab Aide I is responsible for completing and maintaining competency in phlebotomy, specimen processing, and basic client service tasks. As a phlebotomist, the expectation is to obtain blood samples from patients in a timely manner while following proper collection policy. As a specimen processor, the aide will ensure appropriate labeling has occurred and handle specimens according to policy. Basic client service tasks include requisition entry, requisition checks, and filing.

Requirements

Completion of phlebotomy and specimen processing competencies within 3 months of starting in this position. Completion of basic client service competency within 1 year of starting in this position.

Qualifications

  • Phlebotomy certificate upon hire.
  • Experience as a phlebotomist and/or completion of a Phlebotomy program preferred.

The successful candidate's placement on the wage range for this position will be determined based upon relevant job experience and other applicable factors. These amounts are the base pay range; additional compensation may be available for this role, such as shift differentials, standby/on-call, overtime, premiums, extra shift incentives, or bonus opportunities.
