About the role

The Tennessee College of Applied Technology - Dickson is accepting applications for a full-time Associate Instructor in the Evening Computer-Aided Design (CAD) Technology program at the Clarksville Campus. This is a grant-funded position.

Responsibilities

  • Provide individualized theory and hands-on instruction to adult and high school students to prepare them for employment in the field.
  • Maintain student records in the college’s student records management software.
  • Monitor, grade, and evaluate individual student progress.
  • Aid in recruiting new students and assisting with graduate placement.
  • Maintain good public relations with business and industry; maintain an active advisory committee; cooperate with outside agencies; and supervise and follow-up on students participating in cooperative education.

Requirements

  • Technical Diploma in instructional area or equivalent higher education training with credentials in related field. Associate Degree preferred.
  • Minimum of three (3) years of experience in the drafting and/or technical drawing field within the last five (5) years.
  • Proficient with CAD software such as AutoCAD, SolidWorks, Revit, Inventor, Additive Manufacturing layout programs, Microsoft Office applications, etc.
  • Possess a high level of knowledge of drafting, technical drawing standards and additive manufacturing.
  • Experience using 3D printers.
  • Prior teaching experience or evidence of ability to teach students a plus.

  • Good character, mature attitude, and stable personality.
  • Willingness to remain current in the instructional field and maintain personal certifications and program accreditation(s).
  • Ability to establish and maintain effective interpersonal working relationships with students, faculty, staff, the general public and business/industry representatives.
  • Willingness and ability to perform administrative duties in a timely manner.

Benefits

This position is full-time and reports to the Clarksville Campus Director. Scheduled work hours are Monday through Friday, 1:30 p.m. to 9:30 p.m. Scheduled class hours are Monday through Friday, 2:45 p.m. to 9:15 p.m. All instruction is delivered in-person; this is not a remote work position.

Pay

SALARY: $50,894-$61,074 annually ($26.10-$31.32 per hour). Commensurate with Tennessee Colleges of Applied Technology salary guidelines and directly related experience.

Schedule

Scheduled work hours are Monday through Friday, 1:30 p.m. to 9:30 p.m. Scheduled class hours are Monday through Friday, 2:45 p.m. to 9:15 p.m. All instruction is delivered in-person; this is not a remote work position.
