About the role

The Tennessee College of Applied Technology - Dickson is seeking a full-time Machine Tool Technology Associate Instructor at the Clarksville Campus.

Responsibilities

  • Provide in-person individualized theory and hands-on instruction to adult and high school students.
  • Teach subjects including blueprint reading, shop theory, precision measuring, technical math, CAD, safety, basic metallurgy, etc.
  • Maintain student records and documentation.
  • Monitor, grade, and evaluate student progress.
  • Assist in recruitment and placement of students.
  • Maintain good public relations with business and industry.
  • Participate in advisory committee efforts.
  • Supervise and follow-up on students participating in cooperative education.

Requirements

  • Minimum of Technical Diploma in instructional area or equivalent higher education training with credentials in related field. Associate Degree preferred.
  • Three (3) years of experience in the Machine Tool field within the last five (5) years.
  • NIMS certifications or the ability to become certified within 12 calendar months.
  • Computer skills.
  • Strong hands-on technical background in field of instruction.
  • High degree of knowledge in areas such as blueprint reading, shop theory, precision measuring, technical math, safety.

Skills

  • Organizational and communication skills necessary to be an effective teacher.
  • Evidence of good character, mature attitude, and stable personality.
  • Able to remain current in the instructional field and maintain personal certifications and program accreditation(s).
  • Prior teaching or evidence of ability to teach students.

Benefits

Salary range: $56,263 - $67,517 per year ($28.85 - $34.62 per hour), commensurate with Tennessee Colleges of Applied Technology salary guidelines and directly related experience.

Schedule

Monday through Friday from 7:30 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. Scheduled class hours are 8:00 a.m. to 2:30 p.m. Monday through Friday. This is not a remote work position.
