Responsibilities

  • Deliver instruction aligned with the college’s strategic goals and evaluate students' progress to facilitate achievement of their educational goals.
  • Conduct assigned classes and/or labs, prepare lessons, and develop course syllabi aligned with contractual requirements.
  • Utilize learning outcomes assessment and measures to improve learning/instruction.
  • If a lab is involved, prepare labs, enforce lab safety procedures, and evaluate student progress.
  • Maintain office hours, respond to voice mail/e-mail communication, give career and academic advice, and refer students to student support services.
  • Implement accommodations and accessible materials for students with disabilities in accordance with an official disability notification of accommodation provided by Student Access and Disability Services.
  • Develop curriculum, review/select textbooks and instructional materials, and participate in articulation of courses/programs.
  • Participate in professional development activities that align with the college’s strategic goals.
  • Assist in scheduling of classes, setting departmental goals, and participating in assessment of student learning outcomes at the college, program, and course-level.
  • Assist in assessing new equipment and/or supplies and serve on standing and ad-hoc committees.
  • Participate in program review and comply with registration/records procedures.

Requirements

  • Master’s degree in Engineering or a related field (e.g., Industrial Technology or mechanical engineering) with at least 2-3 years of experience in manufacturing.
  • Extensive knowledge and proficiency in various CAD software (e.g., SolidWorks, Creo, AutoCAD).
  • Prior teaching experience, both in-person and online.
  • A willingness to support and engage with students from diverse backgrounds, perspectives, and abilities while being dedicated to creating an equitable and welcoming atmosphere for all.

Qualifications

  • Required: SolidWorks Certification (e.g., CSWA, CSWP, or SolidWorks Accredited Educator), PTC Creo Certification (e.g., Creo Mechanical Design Applications Specialist), or experience in 3D CAD modeling and design, and/or certified CAD Technician.
  • Desired: SolidWorks Certification (e.g., CSWA, CSWP, or SolidWorks Accredited Educator), PTC Creo Certification (e.g., Creo Mechanical Design Applications Specialist), or experience in 3D CAD modeling and design, and/or certified CAD Technician.
