Associate, Global Investment Banking, M&A
About the role
The GIB New York M&A Associate will support M&A deal execution and other business opportunities within the Investment Banking US M&A team. Responsibilities include building financial models, performing valuation analyses, preparing supporting materials, collaborating with industry specialists, and identifying new M&A opportunities.
Responsibilities
- Create financial models and perform valuation analyses
- Prepare and present pitch books and presentations for client meetings
- Collaborate with Analysts and senior deal team members during transaction execution
- Identify and evaluate new M&A opportunities with industry specialists
- Review and comply with firm policies related to business activities
- Escalate risk events, control deficiencies, and compliance concerns to managers and relevant functions
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree and MBA, MA, or MS with finance/accounting emphasis
- At least one year of Investment Banking experience and relevant M&A experience
- Solid understanding of capital markets and spreadsheet modeling
- Outstanding quantitative and qualitative analytical skills; strong finance and accounting knowledge
- Motivated with the ability to manage multiple priorities and requests
- Strong written and oral communication skills; excellent interpersonal abilities

Benefits

Pay
The good-faith expected salary range for the above position is $175,000-$225,000 depending on factors including experience, skills, registration status, and business needs.
Schedule
Full-time position with 40 hours per week.
