Associate/Full Professor Tenure System
Position Summary
The College of Human Medicine at Michigan State University (MSU) invites applications for a tenured full-time research position (Associate or Full Professor) in the Charles Stewart Mott Department of Public Health in Flint, Michigan. This generous position offers a unique opportunity for an established researcher and biostatistician who is interested in supporting departmental research while also pursuing their own interests in implementation, intervention, or policy research in topics that are both relevant to Flint and beyond.

The Department seeks to build on strong and energetic growth in research. Flint has a long history of community activism and involvement, including nationally recognized community pioneers and citizen scientists. Responsibilities
- Assist with study design, data management and analysis, and training
- Contribute to transparent and accessible communication of findings to the Flint community and beyond
- Lead in developing a health equity focused postdoctoral T32 training program
- Lead in implementing implementation science, geospatial analysis, biostatistics and research design, AI analytics, agent-based modeling, Bayesian modeling, causal inference, and measure development
Requirements
- PhD in Biostatistics, Data Science, Epidemiology, or related field
- Leadership experience in developing/overseeing a biostatistics or data core
- Interest in health equity, social determinants of health, behavioral health, maternal-child health, or environmental justice
- Experience mentoring junior investigators and trainees
Qualifications
- Exceptional mid-to-advanced career investigators
- Highly accomplished senior faculty may have the opportunity to receive the title of C. S. Mott Endowed Professor
