Associate Field Technician/Field Technician/Sr. Field Technician

About the role

This position is available for an Associate Field Technician, Field Technician, or Sr. Field Technician at the Arnaudville Compressor Station in the Lafayette area.

Responsibilities

• Operate natural gas turbine
• Inspect and maintain valves
• Tank gauging
• Pipeline locating
• Pipeline patrolling
• One call duties for the compressor station and pipeline
• Perform construction duties
• Preventive pipeline maintenance and operations
• Meter station, corrosion control, and right of way maintenance
• Recognition and reporting of abnormal and safety related operating conditions
• Accident and near miss reporting
• Emergency response
• Regulatory compliance, operations, maintenance, and repair procedures
• Respond to call-outs and participate in a call-out rotation

Requirements

• Live within 30 miles of Arnaudville Compressor Station
• Physical requirements: standing/walking, climbing, bending, stooping, squatting, carrying up to 50 lbs. for a minimum of 50 feet
• Working conditions: exposure to extreme heat and cold temperatures and enclosed spaces
• Strong computer skills
• Excellent verbal communications skills
• Problem-solving skills and ability to manage filing system
• History of safe work
• Current Drivers License with a clean record

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent
• Technical degree preferred
• Experience working with natural gas pipelines and compressor facilities
• Familiarity with DOT 192 Regulations
• Mechanical and/or Electrical industry related training
